The different widths of GMD 10 and GMD 100 series are adapted to small and medium farm operations. They combine a simple structure with many different features. These machines produce a clean and even cut. Their cutter bar is highly effective and robust.

The cutter bar has been designed to cope well with obstacles. Being equipped with the PROTECTADRIVE safety system, in the event of a violent impact between a disc and an obstacle, the shaft holding the disc can shear just above the bearing thanks to a calculated shear groove. Therefore gearwheels are protected. In less than 15 minutes, the machine can be back up and running at a low repair cost. Top-of-the-range components strengthen the centrepiece of the cutter bar:
Should the machine hit an obstacle, the safety breakaway mechanism causes the mower unit to slightly pivot backwards so the impact is significantly reduced. You can reset the device simply by reversing.
All GMD 10 series and GMD 100 series mowers have bolting knife attachment system.
GMD 240 to 355 models can be fitted with the FAST-FIT quick release knife system which comes with 3 extra guarantees:
– A powerful leaf spring provides constant pressure on the knife retainer but the knife is not restricted.
Therefore, when the disc is rotating the knife cannot come loose. In order to keep maintenance costs down, the retaining pins and the leaf spring can be replaced separately.
Cutting quality remains just as excellent as the cutter bar is compact and the blades have an exclusive shape, which enables them to work extremely close to the protective skids.
The articulated cutting unit follows ground contours with maximum accuracy, even when mowing banks or ditches.
The mower unit’s suspension system is equipped with a spring, which adapts the cutter bar floatation to field undulations.
On the GMD 100 series models, the lift and suspension system allows both the cutter bar and the inner skid to be raised off the ground using only the mower’s hydraulic cylinder. The tractor’s 3-point hitch stays at the same pre-set height. A hydraulic limiter gently stops the mower unit lifting when crossing swaths. This is a great advantage when working on slopes.
The distance between the cutter bar and the tractor’s rear wheels is very short. This enables the cutter bar to react quickly to changes in the field and ensures a uniform cutting height.
The discs are specially designed to clear forage to the rear of the mower quickly to prevent grass from being cut again.
On the GMD 355 model, the residual ground pressure of the mowing unit is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder linked to an accumulator.
The kinetics of the mowing unit’s articulation make it possible to mow banks and terraces at a tilt angle of up to 35° and down to 25° depending on the model (-30° for the GMD 355).
A swath wheel is mounted behind the outer disc cone and separates cut crop from uncut crop so that the right hand wheels of the tractor drive over the ground rather than the cut crop. The advantages of a swath wheel over a swath board are:
One tool, supplied with the mower performs all the following tasks:
GMD 240 to 310 mowers have an offset range of 50 mm to the left and right which ensures full cutting width when the mower is attached to tractors with different track widths.
A longer left hitch pin is available to increase the offset of GMD 240 to 310 models by up to 200 mm to the right.
GMD 240, 280 and 310 models are compatible with tractor linkage systems that are equipped with a category 2. quick-Hitch frame. You just have to put a pin in place -this is available as an option.
