The headlands also need your attention

The GF 8703 and GF 10803 are mounted tedders available in two working widths (8.70 m and 10.80 m) for medium to large farms. They are equipped with the HLC (Headland lift Control) rotor lift system for fast and efficient maneuvers.

The GF 8703 and GF 10803 are tedders with 8 and 10 rotors, with a working width of 8.70 m and 10.80 m. Narrow plots and headlands are no longer a problem for users thanks to the HLC (Headland Lift Control) rotor lifting system. By simply operating a valve, all rotors are lifted at least 50 cm from the ground, in less than 5 seconds. They come equipped with all the features that have made KUHN tedders so successful for many years, whether in terms of compactness or forage quality.

Benefits

Quick and easy maneuvering

50 cm in less than 5 s with the HLC (Headland Lift Control) system.

Take advantage of the quick response of the HLC rotor lift system at headlands. You will reach a 50 cm height under the central rotors and even more on the end rotors.
Gain in reliability and work output thanks to easy maneuvering:

  • Reverse at the headlands.
  • Easily turn at the headlands.
  • Cross your fragmented plot without having to fold your machine. Ditches are no longer a problem!

The large rotor clearance prevents any forage buildup when maneuvering over bulky swaths.

Ultra-compact for more safety on the road

Attach these tedders to tractors of 80 hp or more.
On the road as well as in a building, our tedders have been designed for you to gain in space and maneuverability
Width and height do not exceed the standard road gauges (3 meters wide and 3.25 and 3.65 meters high respectively for the GF 8703 and GF 10803).
It is easy to access plots thanks to the reduced length and large clearance under the rotors. The patented system of connection between the headstock and the beam of the machine simultaneously ensures:

  • An ideal suspension during transport
  • A perfect stability in curves and during work.
  • Adequate load transfer between machine and tractor.

The GF 10803 is the most compact tedder on the market. Its work output reaches up to 10 ha/h.

Reduced maintenance

The DIGIDRIVE coupling: the revolution

When KUHN invented this drive design, tedding entered a new era.
From that moment on, it became possible to drive a very large number of rotors, fold them with an unequalled compactness and without any maintenance. A real revolution!
Since the introduction of the DIGIDRIVE finger coupling, more than one million rotors have been used around the world for tedding forage with an outstanding level of reliability. The DIGIDRIVE coupling is made of case-hardened steel and requires no maintenance.

Rotor housings built to last

Guidance is provided by large double-row angular contact ball bearings. Sealing is reinforced to prevent any leakage of lubricant and any introduction of impurities. It is firmly attached to the rectangular structure by means of spacers with long through screws. Thanks to these housings, lubrication on the machine is limited to a few pivot points.
Maximize time spent in the field and minimize maintenance time!

Deflector plates for clean wheels

Tedding young, sugar-rich or long, late forages can be tricky if the strands wrap around the wheel columns. This inevitably leads to downtime while the problem is being resolved. Take advantage of the deflector plate equipment to prevent the forage from wrapping around the wheel columns.

Forage quality

Quality forage, even at the headlands

The HLC system greatly improves the tedder’s response when reversing and maneuvering in order to ensure the quality of your forage, over the whole plot, even in very narrow plots. The height of the HLC rotor lift system is impressive and allows:
bulky forage to be easily crossed over without the risk of it wrapping around the wheels. The forage is only turned over once, thus avoiding multiple turnovers in the headland areas.
To reverse on uneven ground without introducing impurities (earth, stones) into the forage.

New OPTITEDD rotor lasts twice as long

The new OPTITEDD rotor pushes the limits in terms of the resistance and service life of the working parts. The design of the rotor, arms and tines provides increased robustness allowing the machines to operate in the most extreme conditions (heavy forage, stony ground, etc.). with this new rotor, the area tedded will be twice as large.

The design of the rotor and the increase in the rigidity of the plate greatly reduce vibrations. The stamping of the plate and the arm has also been reinforced.

The Heavy Duty tines mounted on this new rotor have a service life that is doubled compared to previous models. The 10 mm diameter of the strand and 4 large diameter coils (80 mm) contribute to a strong reduction in tine fatigue without altering the flexibility necessary for work. Tedding quality is preserved while the stresses and strains on the tines produced by heavy forages are reduced.

Tine deflectors eliminate loading on the tine arms, and prevent the forage from moving up and wrapping around the tine and rotor. The “anti-loss” function prevents a tine being lost in the forage and damaging the following machines or polluting the ration.

Full pickup with asymmetric tines

The asymmetrical length of the tines, with a longer outer tine, offers certain advantages for quality tedding. Compared to a symmetrical design, the outer tine engages with the forage earlier. This ensures that the forage is picked up completely, even at the edges of the field, but also between the rotors, with better tine coverage in this sensitive area. An earlier pick-up of the forage means that the actual working width of each rotor, and thus of the machine, is greater.
