KUHN is expanding its range of belt mergers with the release of a front-mounted MERGE MAXX 440 F model. This machine combines the desire to harvest forage with the lowest possible level of impurities and the need to reduce operating costs of harvesting machines.

Combined with a rear rake with central delivery, the MERGE MAXX 440 F merger with its double delivery ensures an equal volume of forage on each side. The central windrow then produced remains homogeneous in density and shape: an undeniable plus for baling well-cylindrical bales, better wrapped. Homogeneous bales also ensure simple handling and easy storage without forgetting the gain in terms of preservation quality. The belt of the MERGE MAXX 440 F model is approximately 1 m wide, and optimizes forage transport and formation of the lateral windrow. Belt tension adjustment is centralized and tool-free.
The pick up quality and consistency are directly related to the design of the small diameter pick-up and WINDGUARD with roller. The cam-guided tine bars optimize forage uptake, lift and smooth transfer to the belt in combination with the WINDGUARD reel, its volute and lower roller. A vital part of the machine for creating an even windrow.
With the exclusive double belt of the MERGE MAXX 440 F model, you can deliver the collected forage on 1 or 2 sides. This choice is ideal to allow you to optimize the formation of the rear windrow for the rest of the harvesting chain. The final central windrow (regardless of whether in combination with a rotor or pick-up rake) formed at the rear is then presented in a form and density that is very homogeneous transversely. Wrapping very cylindrical bales is favorable for the preservation and subsequent storage of the bales.
Delivering on 2 sides is also a good solution for separating excessively large windrows for easier drying.
A pendulum-type articulation with a +/- 10° travel mounted on ball joints ensures good following of ground contour and sward, and clean raking.
The constant hydraulic suspension protects the sward, limits driving effort and wear while ensuring good ground countour following. The forage uptake remains clean while ensuring the care of the sward.
At tractor level, the linkage must be used in single-acting floating mode and load transfer hooks (A) must be provided to attach the chains linked to the suspension cylinders.
The machine is guided by two large rotating skids to prevent drifting and protect the sward during tractor lateral movements on bends. These skids are adjustable in height to adapt to the various situations: cutting height, forage, straw windrowing. Moreover, the machine maintains its optimal hitching angle.
For perfect stability during U-turns, on bends and on the road, a tilting articulation effectively and automatically locks the pendulum device when the machine is raised.
The work mode, belt speed and windrow delivery are adjustable directly from the tractor cabin, i.e. the operator does not have to leave the tractor.
An operating pressure gauge is positioned in the operator’s field of vision to warn him in case of an abnormal increase in machine pressure .
The rear hood of the forage evacuation channel, made up of transparent material, ensures forage flow during work.
Optional equipment is available such as a containment net limiting the spread of crop residues that could fill the tractor’s grille, or a set of 2 rear-view mirrors to improve the operator’s lateral visibility.
