FC mower conditioners 1061 TL series with side drawbar come in working widths from 2.67 to 3.50 m. These machines are economical, adapted to medium-sized plots and provide high output. Headland turns are easy thanks to the GYRODINE headstock, which provides the simple handling necessary to produce high quality forage. Choose the conditioner to suit the main crop: DIGIDRY with steel fingers for a high performance in very diverse conditions and especially in long forage on TLD versions. The FC 3161 TLV version has hydraulic plates for producing twin swaths less than 3 m wide. SQUAREFLEX polyurethane roller for delicate forage on TLR versions. DOUBLE CRIMP steel roller on TLS versions.

Your Benefits

Side pull: everything you need

GYRODINE headstock: fast, easy maneuvering

The GYRODINE pivoting headstock is robust and enables turns in excess of 90° while keeping the PTO driveline straight. Maintenance requirements are low with only one oil-change point. The machine is coupled to the tractor with anti-rotation pins. This hitch system is extremely reliable and ensures safe manoeuvres.

Swaths adapted to harvesting machines

The machine is designed to handle intense forage throughput with different delivery modes depending on the machine:

  • Regular swaths with adjustable widths.
  • Uniform wide delivery as standard on TLD series models and as an option on TLR and TLS models
  • Twin swaths less than 3m on FC 3161 TLV (perfect compatibility with a 3m pick-up).

Protecting the ground, even at high speeds

The mowing unit is suspended by torsion bars. It follows ground contours closely to produce an even cut and can be adjusted separately on both sides. This helps protect the sward and the machine, and keeps impurities out of the forage. The ultra-large tyres exert very little pressure on the ground during work and headland turns. The crop is preserved and soil compaction is avoided.

Time and money savings

OPTIDISC ELITE: the optimum cut

The new OPTIDISC ELITE cutter bar was developed with farmers. Variable spacing between the discs, large overlap zones and the reduced angle of the OPTIDISC cutter bar will provide you with the quality you need. FC 1031 series are equipped with this cutter bar and its latest upgrades that guarantee a clean cut at all times. The OPTIDISC ELITE cutter bar includes exclusive features:

  • Spacing is reduced at the point where the discs diverge to increase knife overlap. This results in a clean cut, even in light or short grasses. (A)
  • Distance is increased at the point where the discs converge. This makes more space for the crop to pass through which is quickly carried away to the rear so that the mower can do its job undisrupted. (B)
  • The overlap zone is almost doubled resulting in better cutting quality in damp sticky ground (or with mole hills), in heavy and laying crops, and in plant cover harvested at the end of autumn.
  • A smaller pitch angle: this prevents the undulating cut which is typical with close mowing. It also stimulates homogeneous and faster regrowth and makes it easier to adjust the machines that follow.
  • New disc bearings with an exclusive shape and attachment which hold the knives firmly in place in the event of impact while granting 360° rotational freedom.

Earth can build up in front of a cutter bar on hilly plots or in wet and sticky conditions, but not with the OPTIDISC ELITE cutter bar! It has specially designed skids to improve ground following and preserve the sward. Another advantage for forage quality, especially in difficult conditions.

Maximum reliability and stability

The cutter bar has been designed to handle obstacles. With the PROTECTADRIVE safety system, in case of a very violent impact between the disc and an obstacle, the shaft holding the disc shears above the housing thanks to a cleverly dimensioned shear groove. Therefore the gearwheels are protected son in less than 15 minutes, the machine is operational again and at a very low repair cost.
The housing attachment is ensured by long screws, passing through the cutter bar. Any risk of housings being ripped off in the event of shock is prevented.
High-end components reinforce the core of the cutter bar:

  • Cutter bar with special double row oblique contact ball bearings.
  • Large diameter gearwheels in high precision forged steel with 3 cogs engaged.
  • Discs with forged and treated cups over the whole surface area.
  • Disc skids in treated steel with the possibility of adding protective lining (attachment via screws).

To increase the machine’s service life, rubber mounts are integrated between the cutter bar and the frame. Shocks have less impact on the machine’s structure while mowing at high ground speed.

Minimum maintenance

You will waste no time on maintenance.
The OPTIDISC cutter bar is an excellent example of added value created through the close collaboration between manufacturer and farmer. It is a solution that is totally adapted to operations and will save you time:

  • Lubed-for-life. No need to service the cutter bar.
  •  FAST-FIT quick-release knife system, 100 % secure. A powerful leaf spring provides constant pressure to the knife retainer for extra safety. It takes just a few moments to replace the knives.

Maintenance is kept down, being required mainly for the drive system and a few joints, and only occasionally.

Ideal conditioning for forage dry-down

High-performance DIGIDRY steel fingers for diverse conditions

The rotor conditioner with steel fingers is highly effective in long, heavy and mature forage as well as in short forage. Its high-capacity intake produces smooth forage flow though the machine. Power requirement for this type of conditioner is kept low with quicker forage passage and no need for recirculation. Well-structured, airy swaths are created by the position of the fingers that fluff up the forage, sending it up in the air before it comes down to form the swath. The resulting forage has higher energy and nutritional value owing to accelerated drying.
The steel fingers can also work in lucerne. Conditioning intensity is adjusted to preserve the leaves on the stems to retain the nutritional quality in the forage.
Modify conditioning intensity by:

  • Adjusting the deflector plate.
  • Adjusting the conditioning speed.

DOUBLE CRIMP steel rollers on TLS models

The conditioner with DOUBLE CRIMP steel rollers grips the plant evenly to allow humidity to escape. The whole process is gentle in order to retain the nutritional value of delicate forage crops such as legumes and immature rye. Their large 240mm diameter makes them very robust as well as improving forage circulation. Pressure between the rollers can be adjusted from 100 to 500kg/m to suit the type of forage and conditioning intensity desired.

SQUAREFLEX rollers made from polyurethane for delicate forage

Tests carried out by Arvalis (French agronomic institute), the Chamber of Agriculture and the FD machinery cooperative highlighted the drying curves of different mower-conditioners (finger or roller, in plastic or steel). The mower-conditioner with the SQUAREFLEX polyurethane roller came out top with over 80% of DM by the second evening compared to the third evening with other methods.
Specific SQUAREFLEX roller treads in the polyurethane, grip the crop with a regular movement, no matter which direction the crop is leaning. Pressure is adjusted between the rollers with an easily accessible adjustment screw. In addition, the gap between the rollers can be widened to let foreign bodies pass through.
Both rollers are driven by a gearbox (no chains or belts!) They are synchronised for life: longer service life and no maintenance, Both rollers rotate at 780 min-1 to ensure optimum functioning in all conditions, with delicate forage as well as in ryegrass, sorghum and immature crops…
